October 2020 Ratings – Updates

*A fighter is typically removed from our ratings, if she has been inactive from her weight class for 12 months, and still has no fight scheduled. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, few fights have been taking place, so extra allowances have been given.

Atomweight

Mika Iwakawa moves to #2 (pushing Saemi Hanagata down to #3), after her split decision win over Nanae Suzuki on September 26th.

Lightweight

Chantelle Cameron exits the ratings, as after recently winning the WBC belt at 140lbs, she does not appear to be returning to the 135lbs weight class. Melissa St. Vil enters at #5, with Mossely and Volante each moving up one place.

Junior Welterweight

Katie Taylor exits, after beating Persoon in the rematch at 135lbs, and scheduling her next fight also at 135lbs. She does not appear to have any plans to fight at Junior Welterweight again.

Alicia Melina Kummer enters at #5. Although Alicia has not fought since early 2019, she has at least been consistent at Junior Welterweight, winning her last four fights here. As with most boxers, the pandemic has derailed her plans in 2020, but she Is scheduled to fight again in April 2021 at 140lbs.

In September we contacted Jessica McCaskill and her team. She has declared that has not left 140lbs. The WBC stripped her of her belt. After the Braekhus rematch she will reassess her options. Therefore at present, she remains the Lineal Champion.

Pound-For-Pound: Our overall Pound-for-Pound top 10 is now worked out by allocating points to each panellist’s top 10, and totalling the figures – so, 10 points for each panellist’s #1, 9 points for #2...1 point for #10.

No Changes.
